Blog Entry №. 2

During my junior high school years, I joined school press conferences and other academic writing contests. I was a campus journalist and a member of our English radio broadcasting team. I also have interests in humanities, music and performance arts. Some of my soft skills are creativity, organizational, openness to criticism, and empathy. On the other hand, I consider creative and academic writing, broadcasting, basic technical knowledge, and basic digital and video editing as my hard skills.

In line with my communication skills, I still see myself as a below-average writer and communicator. I tend to be inconsistent at times because I struggle to conserve my energy in doing multiple tasks, which I am willing to improve with proper training and guidance. I would rate my radio broadcasting skills as 3 out of 5. Even though I enjoy reporting, I understand that it does not solely focus on reading a script but also on the ability to write your own report with accuracy and conciseness.

Through exposure training, I expect to regain my confidence in public speaking and quickly adapt around new people and environment. I want to learn to respond effectively to pressure and practically manage my skills as I reach my full potential. My goal is to enhance and showcase my capabilities in broadcasting and writing. There may be times that I have to push myself beyond my limits but I hope that it would be more of a benefit rather than a burden.
